The Doobie Brothers put on an excellent show overall, but my only complaint was that the music was too loud at times, making it hard to understand the lyrics. Towards the end of the show, the sound seemed to improve, possibly due to the sound booth engineers finally paying attention (I was seated behind them). This was my 4th time seeing the Doobie Brothers in concert, and the 2nd time at the Camden center.
Let's talk about the venue now. It was a nightmare trying to get to the parking lot, with over 45 minutes spent navigating through traffic and back streets. Upon finally arriving, there were only 2 parking lot attendants accepting credit cards, causing further delays. The $40 parking fee was already insulting, but the slow process of accepting payments and lack of sufficient attendants made it worse. After the concert ended, all parking attendants and traffic control personnel disappeared, creating chaos for drivers.
I have visited the Camden center for concerts at least 10 times since it opened. However, myself and five others have decided that the hassle of dealing with traffic and parking is not worth attending another show at this venue. The city of Camden should invest in additional parking facilities and hire more traffic control staff to improve the overall experience.
